Anganwadi worker abducted, gang raped in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: An Anganwadi worker was allegedly gang raped after being kidnapped by three youths late Monday night in the district. The matter came to light today after the victim managed to contact her family members who later rescued her.

As per reports, the survivor was returning to her village under Gondia police limits with her brother late last night when the three accused allegedly intercepted them and thrashed her brother before abducting her. Later, they gang raped and threw her on the road.

Meanwhile, police have arrested all the three accused (based on the complaint of the survivor).

The incidents of sexual assault on girls continue to haunt and shame Odisha with two such gang rape cases being reported in a single day from Balasore district on Monday.

While a minor tribal girl was allegedly gang raped and sold to a brothel in the district by one of her neighbours, another minor girl was allegedly gang raped by five persons under Raibania police limits of the district when she was alone in home.
