Washington: The US Congress has passed with an overwhelming majority the Defense Authorization Act 2012, that freezes some USD 700 million military aid to Pakistan until it shows progress in stemming the flow of IEDs into Afghanistan.

The US Senate followed House of Representatives to pass the Act with an overwhelming majority on Thursday. The Act will now be sent to President Barack Obama to sign into law.
