New Delhi: The ruling parties of India and Russia have come closer by signing an agreement to ensure greater contact and cooperation between the two organisations. Indian National Congress and United Russia Party initialled the agreement on Saturday last in Moscow during the 13th Congress of the ruling party of Russia.

Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi and S Neverov, Secretary of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party signed the protocol which is in line with the strategic partnership between India and Russia. Under the agreement, the two parties will organise bilateral and multilateral seminars, conferences and round table meets on issues of importance on international affairs as also concerning Indo-Russian relations.
