Islamabad: Pakistan wants "cooperative and friendly relations" with India to achieve the shared goal of peace and progress, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said today in a message sent to his Indian counterpart on the occasion of 65th Independence Day.

"On this occasion I would like to reiterate our desire to have harmonious, cooperative and friendly relations between our two countries to achieve our shared goal of peace, progress and prosperity," Gilani said in his message of greetings to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
