Lahore: A Pakistani court on Thursday sought a "fresh and comprehensive" response from the Foreign Ministry to a petition by JuD chief and LeT founder Hafiz Mohd Saeed asking it to direct the government to defend him in a US lawsuit filed by relatives of victims of the Mumbai attacks.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court asked the Foreign Ministry to furnish a "fresh and comprehensive" reply to the court to clear the government`s position on the matter.
