Beijing: Sri Lanka`s powerful Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Thursday held talks with his Chinese counterpart Liang Guanglie here, amid mounting pressure on Colombo for a credibly probe into alleged war crimes during the final stages of the ethnic conflict.

The visit of Gotabaya, who is also brother of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, came ahead of Colombo facing a strong resolution by United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva to probe the allegations of human rights violations in the last stages of war against LTTE that ended in May 2009.
