A low-pressure area is likely to form over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Andaman Sea on November 16 under the influence of the cyclonic circulation which lies over the south Andaman Sea and neighbourhood, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, the system is likely to move west-northwestwards and gradually concentrate into a Depression over central parts of South Bay of Bengal around November 18.

Warning And Forecast

Widespread rainfall with heavy falls is very likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on November 15 and 16. Squally weather (wind speed 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) is likely to prevail over the south Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 16; over Southeast Bay of Bengal on 17 and 18 and over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka coast on November 18 and 19,

Fishermen are advised not to venture into the south Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 16 and17; Southeast Bay of Bengal on 17 & 18; Southwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining Sri Lanka coast on November 18 and 19t and along and off Tamil Nadu-Puducherry Coasts on November 20 and 21.
