The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal around October 10, which may trigger light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Odisha.
As per the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre, the system is likely to intensify gradually, influencing the weather conditions across the state over the next few days.
According to the latest bulletin, Odisha is expected to experience widespread light to moderate showers between October 10 and 11.
The IMD has also issued a Yellow Warning for 20 districts for Wednesday, alerting residents about possible thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. The districts under the warning may witness light to moderate rainfall during the evening and night hours.
Weather experts stated that while the cyclonic circulation is still in its formative stage, its movement and strength will determine whether a low-pressure area develops subsequently.
Fishermen have been advised to stay updated with official forecasts before venturing into the sea, as the conditions over the Bay of Bengal could become rough in the coming days.
The IMD has urged people to remain cautious, particularly in rural and coastal areas, as lightning strikes during thunderstorms pose significant risks.
