A Rapido bike taxi ride in Lucknow has captured the internet’s attention after a rider agreed to help an elderly man take his sick pet dog to the doctor.
The unusual gesture, involving a two-wheeler taxi service, has been widely praised on social media for its compassion and humanity.

Rider’s Initial Hesitation Turns Into Help
The viral video shows the Rapido rider arriving at the pickup point and noticing a dog seated beside the passenger. Understandably concerned about safety, the driver questions the elderly man about the animal and why it was brought along on a bike taxi ride. The owner explains that his dog had not been eating for the past one or two days and urgently needed medical attention.
The rider suggests that booking a cab might have been a better option. However, the man reassures him that the dog is calm, well-behaved and will not bite or cause any disturbance during the ride.
“Rapido Rider Turned Into a Dog Ambulance”
After listening to the man’s explanation, the Rapido rider agrees to continue the journey, allowing both the owner and his pet to sit on the bike.
The clip was later shared on Instagram with the caption, “Rapido rider turned into a dog ambulance. The customer turned out to be a dog.” The video quickly went viral, drawing admiration from thousands of users.
Many viewers praised the rider for stepping up despite the risks involved. Several users highlighted how difficult it often is to find transport while travelling with pets, with one comment reading, “Here, even auto rickshaw and cab drivers create drama. We need more such people in this world.”
Social Media Applauds the Act of Kindness
Comments poured in appreciating the rider’s empathy and kindness. Users wrote messages like “Huge respect for you man,” “You are a good human,” and “Indie baby, god bless this man,” reflecting widespread admiration for his gesture.
While some app-based transport services such as Uber and Rapido have introduced pet-friendly travel options, these are mostly limited to major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai. Incidents like this highlight how individual acts of compassion can make a meaningful difference, especially when systems fall short.
