Weddings are meant to be flawless affairs. Months of planning go into perfecting every ritual, outfit and moment, with families determined to ensure that nothing dampens the joy. However, recent travel disruptions proved that even the most carefully planned celebrations can face unexpected turbulence.

Airport Chaos Grounds Wedding Plans
IndiGo’s large-scale flight cancellations in December 2025 caused widespread disruption at airports across India. Thousands of passengers were left stranded due to crew-rostering challenges and regulatory issues. Long queues, soaring airfares on alternate airlines and mounting confusion defined the travel nightmare.
Amid this chaos, two wedding-related incidents caught the internet’s attention- one involving newlyweds, the other a groom racing against time.
When Love Logged In Instead of Landing
Technology stepped in when travel failed. Medha Kshirsagar and Sangam Das, software engineers based in Bengaluru, tied the knot on November 23 in Bhubaneswar. Their wedding reception was scheduled for December 3 at Gujarat Bhavan in Hubballi, where relatives had already assembled. Their journey, however, did not go as planned.
After multiple flight delays on December 2, their IndiGo flight was cancelled entirely the following morning, leaving the couple stranded far from the venue. Refusing to cancel the celebration, the family chose a modern solution.
Dressed in full wedding attire, Medha and Sangam attended their own reception virtually from Bhubaneswar, interacting with guests through video screens. What began as a logistical nightmare soon turned into a cherished memory, famously remembered as the “viral online reception.”

Stranded Groom, Swift Decision
In another incident, a groom found himself stuck when his scheduled IndiGo flight was abruptly cancelled just before his wedding. As the wedding muhurat approached, uncertainty and anxiety set in, leaving the bride visibly distressed.

Turning Crisis into Celebration
Unwilling to let the situation derail the wedding, the groom took a bold step, he booked a chartered flight to reach the venue on time. His decisive action changed the mood instantly. As news of his arrival spread, relief swept through the venue. Tears turned into smiles, cheers filled the air, and the wedding resumed with renewed enthusiasm, transforming a near-disaster into a moment of triumph.
Internet Applause for Love That Took Flight
The video of the groom’s determined arrival quickly went viral, drawing praise across social media. Many admired his commitment, while others reflected on how sudden travel disruptions can deeply affect life’s most meaningful moments- sometimes creating stories even more memorable than the plan itself.
