A Chance Encounter on the Streets

The video was shared by social media user Karan Joshi, who wrote that his routine walk with his dog led him to notice a boy many others had ignored. Believed by passersby to be a beggar, the person was actually a 20-year-old physically and mentally challenged boy from Jharkhand, missing from his family since December 21.

“This didn’t start as a rescue. It started with noticing someone others ignored,” Joshi wrote, describing the encounter as something that still felt unreal.

Caring Beyond the Obvious

The video shows Joshi arranging clothes for the boy, taking him for a haircut, and ensuring he received medical attention. Doctors avoided giving injections after the boy repeatedly said, “I want an injection… I want to die,” revealing the depth of his mental distress.

Joshi described him as a broken soul who panicked when questioned too much, carrying the weight of years of loss, including losing his mother at the age of five.

One Word That Changed Everything

The boy identified himself as Om Prakash but could not initially recall his home. After multiple attempts at the police station failed, hope came from a single word he uttered “Hariharganj.” Joshi traced the place to Jharkhand and shared details with the Jharkhand Police via WhatsApp.

Soon after, confirmation came. The boy’s family was located and brought to Navi Mumbai to take him home.

A Story That Touched the Internet

Joshi thanked the Jharkhand Police and Navi Mumbai Police for their swift support. The video sparked an outpouring of emotion online, with users praising the act of kindness and humanity.

In a world that often rushes past suffering, this story stands as a gentle reminder: sometimes, stopping is enough to bring someone home.
