What’s happening here? BJD minister Bikram Arukha is seen shouting. What could be the reason? As per the instruction of the Election Commission of India, several flying squads have stepped up surveillance in different parts of Odisha to put a check on illegal flow of cash, liquor and other articles to ensure a free and fair election. Amid this, a video has now gone viral on social media in which Odisha Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha is purportedly seen shouting at the personnel of one such squad in Ganjam district. As per sources, the BJD Minister’s car was intercepted by police personnel near Tanarda under Belaguntha police limits. Subsequently, the Minister stepped out of his car and shouted at the personnel and said in a loud voice to check his vehicle. After such an angry response from the minister, the flying squad team allowed the Minister’s vehicle to pass the check post without checking his car. The video of the entire incident has now gone viral on social media. The incident has raised eyebrows over the reaction of the Minister when his car was stopped for checking. This has sparked a debate whether ministers are above all rules and norms. Are the rules applicable to common man and only their vehicles will be checked during election times? No comments could be obtained from the BJD Minister or any senior police officials over the incident. It is pertinent to mention that various joint squads have been formed for surveillance to ensure free and fair election as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India. Already, huge amount of cash have been seized in different parts of Odisha during the ongoing election process.
