In an act of bravery, 20-year-old Odia girl, Riya Swain, fought off three burglars to save her family from attack on Friday. Riya, who resides in Palsana in Surat, Gujarat, was studying in the bedroom on Friday when three burglars broke into her house at around 10.30 AM.
The miscreants, wielding knives, also threatened to kill Riya and her sister who was sleeping in the same room. However, Riya did not panic and took on the miscreants in a bid to save herself and her sister from attack. Though she sustained deep cut on her hand, she was able to drive off the miscreants.
Riya’s exemplary act of bravery was appreciated in many quarters and Riya was also felicitated by the police for her courageous actions.
