Elephant Gets Stuck In A Well In Odisha, Rescued

These images are of an elephant stuck in a well in Bangiriposi Range in Mayurbhanj district. This elephant was stuck in a well while its herd was crossing the area from Similipal National Park. The elephant had lost its way in the dark and had fallen into the well.

Later, upon hearing the elephant’s anguished cries, the villagers traced it. The villagers then contacted the Forest Department officials who launched a rescue operation to save the wild animal. Then after a five-hour-long operation, the elephant was rescued using an earth moving machine
