In a first of its kind move, the govt of France has added the right to abortion in its constitution. The decision is welcomed by women’s rights groups while anti-abortion groups are criticizing it harshly. MPs and Senators backed the move by 780 votes against 72 votes in a special joint vote of the two houses of the French Parliament. Prior to this, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced that, “We're sending a message to all women: your body belongs to you and no one can decide for you."
