Amid concerns of a possible third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, will schools in Odisha reopen anytime in the near future? On Sunday, State School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that an appropriate decision in this regard will be taken soon.

According to the Minister, the Odisha government is judiciously monitoring the Covid-19 situation amid the possibility of a third wave which is likely to affect young people including children. Earlier, the Odisha government had announced that students in state will be attending live classes on YouTube in a routine manner starting from June 21, 2021.

The District Education Officers (DEO) were asked to ensure that all these arrangements have to be made by June 17th for YouTube live streaming of virtual classes and trial run in advance.
