Despite several awareness programs, female foeticide is an ongoing crisis in Odisha.
A similar case of female foeticide was witnessed in Nayagarh district of Odisha on Wednesday. The Police arrested five persons in connection with female foeticide from a clinic in Nayagarh on Wednesday.
As per reports, Police had conducted a raid at Anandbhavan clinic in Nayagarh town area and arrested owner Satyapriya Swain, two women who had arrived to undergo abortion, a middleman from Khandapada region and a nurse of Phulbani region.
It needs to be mentioned that in 2007 the same Nayagarh district made headlines for the female foeticides where dozens of female foetus were recovered from an abandon well.
