Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) will decide the syllabus for academic session 2021-22 on August 26. The CHSE on Wednesday called for an Academic Committee meeting scheduled to be held on Thursday (August 26).

The CHSE informed the same in a letter to the Chairman of CHSE, Director of SCERT, Vice-Chancellor of CHSE and the Chairman of each syllabus committees of Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational. According to the letter, the meeting will be held to discuss and consider the syllabus rationalisation for the academic session 2021-22. In the meeting the implementation of terminal examination and alternate valuation process will also be considered.

The letter highlighted that these discussions will be held anticipating shut down of Higher Secondary Schools, if situation arises due to COVID-19. On July 22, Odisha government had informed that a decision on 30% reduction in syllabus for students of current academic year is likely to be taken due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation. Physical classroom teaching for Class 10 and 12 students have already commenced from July 26.

Despite the ongoing physical classroom teaching of Plus-2 students in Odisha, the students are yet to receive the finalised syllabus for the current academic session.
