A girl was allegedly kidnapped from the middle of a road in Chandabali in Bhadrak.
The video of the incident has created panic in the region. In the video the girl can be seen forcefully dragged into a vehicle by some miscreants. The victim was identified as Madhusmita Panda, daughter of Gaurahari Panda of Ugratara village in the region. The parents of the victim had lodged a complaint at the local police station alleging kidnapping of their daughter. The parents of the victim have been visiting the police station daily for the last 10 days to find the whereabouts of their daughter, but in vain.
After the CCTV footage of the kidnapping of their girl surfaced from a cement shop, the parents of the victim have requested the police for prompt action. The family members of the victim have alleged that the accused is Pruthiraj Karan. The incident occurred on August 19, when their daughter, just like any other day was on her way to tuition in Chandabali. However, after their daughter didn’t return from tuition, the parents contacted her tuition teacher who said that she had left from the tuitions in a Tata Magic vehicle.
Following this, the family members of the victim lodged a missing complaint in the police station stating that Pruthiraj Karan had been trubling their daughter for the last few days and may have kidnapped her. After the complaint was filed the police began an investigation into the matter. The police have seized the CCTV footage for further investigation.
