With digital banking and financial transactions shooting up, there has also been a significant increase in cyber crimes, as fraudsters are devising new ways everyday to dupe the innocent. The recent victim is a man from CDA Sector-7 in Cuttack. As per reports, Rs 70,000 was fraudulently transacted from his bank account by cyber fraudsters.

In order to reschedule his flight date, victim Saroj Kumar Mishra dialled a helpline number he found on Google and submitted all his personal details that were sought. After realising that he has been duped of Rs 70,000, Mishra filed a police complaint immediately. Following an investigation into the cyber fraud case, Police was able to retrieve Rs 40,000 out of Rs 70,000 missing from the bank account of Mishra.
