Odisha Police Crime Branch investigation continues into the death of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra. A team of crime branch reached Paralakhemundi Police Station today to interrogate Gurandi Police Station OIC, Mamata Panda.
According to sources, the Crime Branch team interrogated OIC Mamata Panda for around 3 hours today. Mamata Panda was present when victim Soumya Ranjan was admitted to the Paralakhemundi Hospital after sustaining critical burn injuries.
The family of deceased Soumya Ranjan has alleged that on the day of the incident, Mamata Panda had detained the ambulance which was carrying the victim to the hospital. Sources informed that the Crime Branch is trying to get details regarding Why Mamata detained the ambulance carrying the victim, what is her relationship with victim’s wife Bidyabharati and who had called her on the day of the incident.
