India ranks 3rd globally with 6,08,000 professionals catering to high demand for cloud solutions.
And, India will have at least 20 lakh job opportunities for Cloud professionals in the next 4 years!
A report released by IT industry body, NASSCOM said that demand for IT Cloud Professionals will touch 20 lakh by 2025 in India. As per the report, titled 'Cloud Skills: Powering India's Digital DNA', demand for cloud professionals will increase as several businesses are transitioning to the cloud.
Moreover, upgrade of outdated IT infrastructure by companies post-pandemic will also fuel this demand. NASSCOM report also highlighted that India would have an estimated 14 to 15 lakh cloud professionals by 2025. The report also said India alone recorded a total of 380,000 job postings for Cloud roles in 2020, a 40% increase over 2019.
The reports further said that with an estimated demand for over 20 lakh professionals by 2025, India could reach 17-18 lakh cloud talent pool with a fairly aggressive skilling roadmap. India has the required ecosystem to take a big share of this market and be seen as the cloud solutions hub for the world, the report said.
The NASSCOM report noted that to bridge the demand-supply gap, skilling as well as upskilling of traditional roles needs to be the topmost priority.
