Almost 20-25 percent of fully inoculated population would not develop antibodies for Covid-19. This information was shared by Director of Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Ajay Parida on Saturday (Sept 11).

Sharing this vital piece of information, Parida stated that a chunk of the population will not develop Covid-19 antibodies due to variation in genetic makeup. Despite, both the vaccines having an efficacy of almost 70-80 percent, some people might not develop the antibodies, Parida said.

Meanwhile, Parida also informed that genome sequencing of more than 600 samples from Odisha between August and September has been conducted. The results show that almost 80 percent are 'Delta variant' cases making it the most prevelant variant causing infections.
