#Covid19 In Rural Pockets: Sarpanch Announces 5 Day Shutdown In Odisha Village

Alarmed by the rising cases of Covid-19 cases, the Sarpanch of the Gelpur Gram Panchayat in Bhadrak district, Mansi Rout reportedly declared a complete shutdown in Nalanga from May 24th to 28th. The decision was taken by the Sarpanch after consulting the authorities and businessmen of the area. Sources said that the villagers were found openly flouting the Covid-19 guidelines recommended by the government which forced the Sarpanch to take strict action to curb the virus spread.
