A youth was arrested for allegedly hacking his mother to death after she refused to make egg curry for him on Monday (November 22). The shocking incident has been reported from Ib village under Jharsuguda Sadar Police Limits.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Kumodini Bhoi. As per reports, on Monday evening, Kumodini’s son, Rajesh Bhoi, had brought some eggs and asked his mother to cook egg curry for dinner.
However, after Kumodini refused to make the curry, an argument ensued between the two and an irate Rajesh struck his mother with a sharp weapon. The impact caused Kumodini to sustain serious injuries, leading to her death on the spot.
Later, Kumodini’s brother-in-law filed a written complaint against Rajesh at the Sadar Police Station, following which the police launched an investigation into the case.
A scientific team reached the spot while police seized the body. On basis of the complaint, accused Rajesh was arrested.
