Trouble mounted for Prasanna Behera, who has been suspended and arrested for illegally running a South City Bar, which shot to news in connection with the murder of senior journalist Navin Das’ son Manish Anurag.
As five teams of the anti-corruption agency raided several places belonging to Prasanna Behera that included, furniture showroom in Bhubaneswar’s Khandagiri area built on land valued at around Rs 1.47 crore.
The showroom building has been valued at over 2 crores. Vigilance sources informed that the purchase of plot and construction of showroom and furniture items will be thoroughly probed Similarly, Vigilance sleuths have found out that his residential quarters at Kalpana Square has been extended construction without authorization.
Though police have arrested the two accused- Amit Kumar Sharma of Jharsuguda and Dinesh Kumar Agarwal of Brajrajnagar in connection with the case, the motive behind the crime is yet to be established.
Several cases are pending against Nakul Mahakud, leader of the ‘bouncer gang’. Earlier, NSA was also invoked against Mahakud. Meanwhile, other members of the gang also have different criminal cases lodged against them.
