Police on Sunday (January 2) managed to nab a robber, accused in the loot from SHG workers in Langaleswar area under Khallikote police limits last month. As per the complaint, on the 22nd of December, Rasmita Pradhan, president of Kalijai SHG (Self Help Group) along with group secretary Gandei Sahu was returning to their village Aitipur after withdrawing required cash of Rs 49,000 from SBI.
However, enroute to their village, two bike-borne miscreants intercepted them and snatched away all the cash before fleeing towards Bhubaneswar on NH-16. On basis of the complaint, Khallikote police registered a case under various IPC sections and the investigation was handed over to Additional IIC of Khallikote police station, P Swaroop Kishen.
Following a tip-off about the accused wandering in the area to carry out yet another loot, police apprehended M Raidu who belongs to Pakalapalli of Aska. Following recovery of cash, Raidu was forwarded to court. The other accused is still absconding.

The victim alleged that the constable maintained physical relationship with her on the pretext of marriage. After staying together in a live-in relationship, the accused constable started avoiding her.
The victim filed an FIR about the theft case at Chandrasekharpur police station. Chandrasekharpur police has started an investigation into the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Rojalin Patra, a third-year electrical engineering student. As per sources, Rojalin was a brilliant student and selected for four campus placements.
The reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained.
