Yet another horrific incident has called into question women's safety in the state. A Plus 3 girl student was allegedly gang raped in front of her male friend near Kalama Chhak under Baisinga police limits in Mayurbhanj.
As per reports, on Friday (October 15) the victim who was travelling with her male friend on a bike stopped near the forest due to some reason. Moments later, three men who were in an inebriated condition also stopped their vehicle at the same place.
The assailants then thrashed the victim’s friend before tying him up to a tree deep in the forest. After this, they dragged the girl to a secluded place and two of the accused took turns to rape her. Seeing a PCR van patrolling the area, the girl’s friend raised an alarm, following which the miscreants fled the scene leaving behind their vehicles at the spot.
The police personnel went into the forest and rescued the girl. Based on victim’s allegations, a case was registered while all three accused have been arrested. On Saturday (October 16) the trio was court forwarded following medical examination.
