The employees of a restaurant in capital city Bhubaneswar were attacked by a group of miscreants late night on Thursday (September 30). The attack was allegedly carried out over extortion money.
One of the victims identified as Montu Behera was critically injured in the assault and was admitted to the Capital hospital. As per sources, on Thursday night, two people broke into the house where the restaurant employees were staying.
The miscreants reportedly sought extortion money. Later the manager of the restaurant informed the police about the incident. However, after a while the miscreants returned in more numbers and launched a violent assault.
They allegedly vandalised the cars parked near the spot. However, they managed to escape from the spot before the police approached. A complaint has been filed at Laxmisagar Police Station in this regard.
