A couple attempted suicide by pouring diesel to self-immolate themselves demanding justice for their 5-year-old daughter, who was allegedly murdered. Ashok Sahu and Saudamini of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district attempted self-immolation in front of the Odisha Assembly today citing that their daughter’s murderers are being shielded by Minister Arun Sahoo. But soon the Police intervened and stopped the couple, who were later taken into custody.
Saudamini said that they have been forced to attempt self-immolation as they are yet to get justice for their daughter, Pari. The couple said that the accused who murdered their daughter is yet to be arrested.
