A project that was conceived before Independence in the year 1945, is yet to see completion. The Railway project, which had promised to connect Khurda and Bolangir districts, continues to move at a snail’s pace.
It was in the year 1994 that the project was approved and the Centre had set a budget of 400 crore rupees after conducting four surveys for the project. The railway line is still to be completed and the budget has increased 10 folds to 4000 crore rupees.
