Why is Tigress Sundari still in an Enclosure? Why did the Tiger Translocation Project in Satkosia fail? Why no decision has been taken regarding the future of Tigress Sundari after all this while?
Highlighting the plight of Tigress Sundari, an organisation called Red Lynx Confederation has filed a writ Petition in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Hearing the matter, the MADHYA PRADESH High Court has requested the state’s Forest Department to conduct a probe and submit a report. The High Court has also sought information about the current situation of Tigress Sundari. On behalf of the Odisha Forest Department, Angul Divisional Forest Officer will appear before the MADHYA PRADESH High Court as per the instructions. Meanwhile, Odisha’s Forest Department has alleged that despite writing numerous letters, the State of Madhya Pradesh has not initiated any steps to take back Tigress Sundari.
