1999 Super Cyclone: A Disaster That Crippled Odisha

On October 29 in 1999, a cyclone ripped through Odisha. Such was its intensity & extent of damage, it was termed the Super Cyclone. The disaster left around 10,000 people dead and over 3 lakh houses were destroyed. Over two lakh animals were killed and 25 lakh people were marooned.
