WATCH | Colourful Flamingos At Chilika Lake
The census was conducted across five ranges including Satapada, Rambha, Balugaon, Tangi and Chilika
The range officer said that due to the high demand for aquatic bird meat in nearby towns like Bhubaneswar, Balugaon and Berhampur, poaching activity has been increasing in the Chilika Lake and its adjoining areas.
Maximum number of birds were witnessed at three locations, Matha Dia, Laxmiprasad Dia and Durga Prasad Dia.
