Every year, visually impaired girls in Ahmedabad make diyas to light up the festivities during the festival of light. Students of Andh Kanya Prakash Gruh are now giving final touches to diyas ahead of Diwali.
In a letter to four Chief Ministers including his counterpart from Odisha, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin requested them to allow the sale of firecrackers, which fall under the norms set by the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal (NGT), in their respective states during this Diwali.

"Today, the government has decided that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana will now be extended till Diwali. That is, by November, free food grains will be available in fixed quantity every month to more than 80 crore countrymen."
