"We like doing different things. Watching movies is one of them. There is no point being serious. Watching a comedy before leaving (for London) helped lighten the mood. We fight too," Bombayla, who would take part in her second successive Olympics, told PTI in an interview.
But she was quick to add that the fighting in the team has never lasted beyond two minutes.
"Chekrovolu (Swuro) is a little short-tempered but she calms down quickly, while Deepika Kumari never argues. She is always a silent observer. It`s normally over in two minutes and then there is too much of bonding," she said of the world number two team.
The team, which is together for more than a year since June 2011 (World Cup Stage II), has gone from strength to strength especially after their upset win over the Koreans in the World Championships last year, which earned them London Olympic berths.
"It was the best thing to have happened to us. It gave us enough time to prepare for Olympics...to stay together as team. There is no seniority or juniority among us. We are like a family, looking to improve every day," he said.
The Beijing Olympian`s role in the team is to provide the finishing shot after the talented Deepika and senior-most Chekrovolu take their aim. "We have come up with a sequence according to which Deepika opens followed by Chekrovolu. I shoot last and it`s important to finish well," she said about the six arrows shooting - two by each member - within 120 seconds.
Having won gold at every Olympics since the even was introduced in 1988 Seoul Games, South Korea`s women, however, would not take the Indians lightly this time, said Bombayla. "Our preparation and build up to the Games has just been perfect. Koreans are world champions but this time we would definitely stand in their way. We are hoping to give them a good fight and not thinking about medals."
The 27-year-old, who finished a poor seventh in the team event of the Beijing Olympics, said the mantra to succeed at the Games is to stay cool. "The competition is no different. But the atmosphere in the Olympics is no match for any other tournament. There is huge support for every team. Holding your nerves to give your best is important," she said.
The team opted out of the World Cup Stage III this month and in their last competition (Stage II in May) they finished a poor seventh but she said the team is not short on match practice. "We needed a break from the competition, so it was important. As for practice, we trained for about 10-12 hours a day at our camp in Gangtok in conditions similar to London. The team spirit is just perfect," she said.
Bombayala said she would be looking to get the support of her parents in London. "They will arrive on July 27 to cheer us for the team final on July 29. There support will be a boon," she said, crediting her success to parents and coach.
