Bhubaneswar: Sometimes, a simple advice during an unexpected juncture in life can have far-reaching consequences and often it turns out to be in fact one's best life decision.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar today opened up on one such encounter in his life which he claims to be nothing less than a blessing.

Sachin on Saturday took to twitter to seek public help in locating a waiter from Chennai who had given him a piece of priceless advice which eventually made him overcome one of the hardest hurdles in his cricketing career to become the sport’s one of the all-time greats.

The Master Blaster claims that once during a Test series in his playing days, a waiter came up to him and said that his bat swing used to change whenever he wore an arm guard.

“I asked for a coffee. A waiter came to my room. He asked me if it was okay if he discussed something on cricket with me. Whenever you wear an arm guard, your bat swing changes,” Sachin said in the post and added that it was probably the first time anyone had noticed about his batting style.

Surprisingly with the down-to-earth attitude that makes him one of the best in the Gentleman’s Game, Tendulkar took the piece of advice heartily and redesigned his elbow guard.

And with all the record breaking feats in the history of Cricket that Sachin has, no wonder why he is thankful to this waiter whose simple advice probably helped him successfully rule all formats of the game for nearly two-and-half-decades.
