IPL 2020: SRH Restrict RCB To 120/7 In 52nd Match

Sharjah: SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the toss and chose to bowl against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 52nd match of 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday. SRH restricted RCB to 120 runs at a loss of 7 wickets.
Josh Philippe and Devdutt Paddikal were the openers of RCB. RCB had a steady start posting 8 runs in the first two overs.
However, Paddikal departed in the 3rd over. Sandeep Sharma took the first wicket of the innings. Paddikal scored 5 runs off 8 deliveries.
Again it was Sandeep who took the big wicket in the 5th over. RCB skipper departed scoring only 7 runs off 6 balls.
By the end of the powerplay, RCB lost 2 wickets with 30 runs on board.
However, AB de Villiers stood strong on the field till the halfway of the match. But, Shahbaz Nadeem dismissed him in the 11th over. de Villiers scored 24 runs off 23 balls.
The next over, it was Josh Philippe who departed scoring 32 runs off 32 deliveries. Rashid Khan dismissed the opener while RCB’s score stood at 67 runs.
By the end of 16th over, RCB was at 99 runs with loss of 4 wickets.
Washington Sundar departed in the 18th over scoring 21 runs. T Natarajan took the wicket restricting the batsman to score more runs.
Next it was Chris Morris who departed early scoring only 2 runs. Jason Holder dismissed him in the 19th over. Following the fall of 6th wicket Holder dismissed Isuru Udana in the same over.
Gurkeerat Mann Singh scored 15 runs off 24 deliveries while Mohammed Siraj scored 2 runs 3 balls and the duo remained unbeaten.
RCB scored 120 runs in the 20 overs of the innings at a loss of 7 wickets posting a victory target of 121 runs for SRH.
RCB are looking to seal a playoff spot with a win while SRH need the win to stay in the qualification race.
SRH captain David Warner said that Wriddhiman Saha was fit to play but Vijay Shankar was ruled out with a hamstring injury and Abhishek Sharma replaces him in the team.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli, meanwhile, said that fast bowler Navdeep Saini was back in the team, replacing Shivam Dube. Isuru Udana also comes into the side in place of Dale Steyn at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
