IPL 2020: KKR Clinches Victory From SRH In Super Over

Abu Dhabi: In a nail-biting match, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the super over of 35th IPL 2020 match at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on Sunday. SRH though successfully chased the target score, it was a tie. However, KKR clinched victory in the super over by 2 wickets.
SRH scored 163 runs at a loss of 6 wickets making a tie that cleared the way for superover. KKR bashed SRH in the superover.

Powerful opening pair of SRH- Jonny Bairstow and Kane Williamson easily scored 50 runs for the team in partnership in 5.2 overs. However, Lockie Ferguson dismissed Williamson early breaking the powerful partnership. Ferguson dismissed Williamson in his very first ball while he scored 29 runs by the 6th runs.
Next, it was Priyam Garg who departed at 4 runs. Luckily, Ferguson got the second wicket also in the 8th over of the innings. SRH’s total score stood at 70 with the dismissal of the second wicket.
Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Bairstow in the 9th over of the innings. Varun got the big wicket while SRH couldn’t score a single run after the dismissal of its second wicket. Bairstow scored 36 runs off 28 balls.
In a big blow to SRH, Ferguson dismissed Manish Pandey in the 11th over while he scored only 6 runs off 7 balls. Vijay Shankar also departed warly scoring only 7 runs.
David Warner scored 47 runs and remained unbeaten.
SRH struggled and successfully lead the match towards the winning target. However, A Samad departed in the last ball.
It was a tie for which both the team had to play super over.
KKR won the match by 2 wickets in the super over.

Ferguson got 3 wickets sparing only 8 runs in 3 overs while Varun got only 1 wicket sparing 20 runs.
SRH skipper David Warner won the toss and opted to field against KKR.
KKR captain Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik scored 58 runs in partnership in the last five overs that took their team to 163 runs at a loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
However, Morgan departed in the last ball of the innings for 34 off 23 balls while Karthik remained unbeaten on 29 off 14 balls.
Shubman Gill was the highest run scorer for the two-time IPL champions with 36 but he took 37 balls to get to that mark before falling to Rashid Khan.
KKR’s top order struggled to get their shots away and by the time Andre Russell was dismissed early in the last ball of the 15th over, while the team’s score was 105/4.
KKR batsman Rahul Tripathi has been slapped with a reprimand for breaching the IPL code of conduct during their match against SunRisers Hyderabad on Sunday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The nature of Tripathi’s offence or the incident that warranted the reprimand was, however, not specified.
“Rahul Tripathi, the Kolkata Knight Riders batsman, has been reprimanded for breaching the Dream11 Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Abu Dhabi,” said the IPL in its statement.
“Mr Tripathi admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.3 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.”
Tripathi scored 26 off 16 balls on Sunday and his opening partnership with Shubman Gill was on 48 when he fell to Thangarasu Natarajan off the last ball of the sixth over. KKR went on to win the match in the Super Over
