Dubai: Delhi Capitals (DC) won the toss and chose to bat against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the 38th match of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday. With Shikhar Dhawan's unbeaten 106 runs, DC scored 164 runs at a loss of 5 wickets giving a winning target of 165 runs to KXIP.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan were the openers of DC. However, Shaw departed early scoring only 7 runs off 11 balls. Jimmy Neesham dismissed him in the 4th over.

At the end of the powerplay, DC were 53/1.

Murugan Ashwin pulled off DC's 2nd wicket in the 9th over. Shreyas Iyer departed scoring 14 runs.

However, Dhawan like the previous match shined on the field scoring a fifty off 28 deliveries. With this, Dhawan scored his 40th IPL fifty. Dhawan hit three boundaries in one over of Mohammed Shami.

Glenn Maxwell dismissed Rishab Pant in 14th over. Pant scored 14 runs off 20 deliveries.

Marcus Stoinis stood by Dhawan while Dhawan in his fierce avatar kept on leading the team's total score. However, Stoinis departed scoring 9 runs in the 18th over while facing Shami.

Anyhow, Dhawan once again scored a ton off just 57 balls in the 19th over of the innings.

Shimron Hetmyer scored 10 runs off 6 balls, however, Shami dismissed him in the last over. Dhawan remained unbeaten at 106 runs.

Both sides come to this on the back of wins.

While DC beat the struggling Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in their previous match, KXIP beat the dominant Mumbai Indians after two Super Overs in an extraordinary match on Sunday.
