Commissioner of Police on Sunday announced that as many as 50 platoons of police force and around 300 officers will be deployed for security during the upcoming T-20I encounter between India vs South Africa at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on December 9.

The Commissioner of Police informed that ensuring the safe and smooth arrival of players to the stadium will be treated as a top priority. General spectators have been requested to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the police to avoid inconvenience. 

Authorities have also urged the public to extend cooperation and maintain discipline, emphasising that adherence to the advisory will help in managing crowd movement and maintaining overall security throughout the match event.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for the commuters. According to the advisory, heavy traffic is expected on all connecting routes to the stadium due to player movement and match-related activities. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and strictly follow the instructions of on-duty traffic personnel.

On Dec 8, restrictions will be in place from 12 PM to 9 PM during the practice session. Similarly, restrictions will remain effective from 8 AM until the conclusion of the match and dispersal of the crowd on December 9.

The police have urged the citizens to cooperate and consider alternative routes to avoid congestion. Spectators, motorists and residents in nearby areas have been requested to adhere to the advisory to ensure hassle-free movement and a smooth match-day experience.
