The city of Bhubaneswar witnessed cloudy sky with a few intense spells of rain and strong gusty surface winds over some areas. Owing to the Jawad-induced rains, people in several low-lying areas were left to grapple with water-logging situation. Even though the system has already weakened into a depression, rainfall activity is likely to continue in the smart city, predicts MeT.
Fortunately, the rains and wind did not bring along much damage to the capital city. Here, a poster of the Konark Festival, which has already been called off, gets pulled down in heavy wind.
Bhubaneswar had very less traffic as compared to usual Sundays, thanks to the Jawad-triggered rainfall overnight and the gloomy weather throughout the day.

Regional Centre of IMD has predicted that there will be occasional reduction in visibility during intense spells of rain.
Seems the unseasonal rain has brought misery for the roadside and street vendors..
