Youth goes missing in Odisha’s Bolangir after alleged threats; slippers recovered, probe underway

A youth and his minor friend have allegedly gone missing for the past three days in Odisha’s Bolangir district, raising serious concerns and deepening the mystery surrounding their disappearance. The incident came to light after Akash Bag, a resident of ITI Colony in Bolangir town, went missing along with a minor friend from the same area.

According to reports, Akash was speaking with a minor girl from the locality last Saturday, following which he was allegedly threatened by the girl’s family. Since then, Akash and the minor girl have remained untraceable. The recovery of Akash’s slippers on Monday has further heightened suspicion and concern.

Youth’s Father Alleges Foul Play

Akash’s father, Sheshadev Bag, has levelled serious allegations against the minor girl’s family, suspecting their involvement in the incident and expressing fears that his son may have been murdered.

In an emotional appeal, Sheshadev Bag said he was devastated after his son’s slippers were found. He urged the police to trace his child and ascertain whether he is alive or dead, alleging that prior threats made against his son could be linked to his disappearance. He claimed that the slippers were recovered from different locations, raising suspicions of a possible chase or foul play.

Minor Girl Also Missing

Meanwhile, the minor girl involved in the case is also missing, and her family has lodged a missing persons complaint at the police station, stating that their daughter’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Bolangir Sadar and Lakshmijore police stations are jointly investigating the case to trace both missing persons. However, no official statement has been issued so far by the police regarding the allegations or the progress of the investigation.
