Vedanta is set to establish a state-of-the-art Ferro Alloys plant in Keonjhar district with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore. In addition, the company will also set up two new aluminium parks in Odisha as part of its large-scale industrial expansion plan.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that these upcoming industrial projects will be ‘game-changers’ for the bright future of Odisha, significantly boosting the state’s industrial and employment landscape.
Taking to his X handle, CMO Odisha shared, “In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial growth, Vedanta Group will invest around Rs 1 lakh crore in the State, creating over 1 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities. The plan includes a Rs 2,000 crore ultra-modern Ferro-Alloys Plant in Keonjhar and two new Aluminium Parks — one at Jharsuguda and another at a site identified by the State Govt.”

“Such massive investments will be a game-changer in Odisha’s journey towards becoming a $500 billion economy by 2036,” the tweet further read.
Likewise, after meeting and holding discussions with the Chief Minister, Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal once again reiterated his commitment to establishing the Vedanta University in Odisha.
He stated, “All states are pursuing me, but my heart lies in Odisha.”
Agarwal added that whether the proposed Vedanta University will be set up in Puri or any other location will be decided based on the opinion and wishes of the people of Odisha.
