Two minor girl rape cases rock Odisha, accused in custody

In a shocking incident, a 10-year old minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in the Ranpur area of Nayagarh district.

According to a complaint lodged at Ranpur police station, the minor was allegedly gang-raped by Prashant Nayak and another minor. 

The victim’s mother alleged that the accused took the child to an isolated place and committed the crime.

Following the complaint, police have reportedly arrested the accused. A scientific team has also reached the spot and is carrying out further investigation.

Meanwhile, another five-year-old minor girl was also allegedly raped by a minor boy under the Sarankul police station.

"A case was registered at Sarankul police station last evening. As per the complaint, a five-year-old girl had gone to her neighbour's house. While returning home, a minor boy took her to an isolated place and raped her. Another case has also been registered at Ranpur police station about the gang rape of a minor girl. The accused have been detained, and the medical examinations of the victims have been conducted. Investigations into both cases are currently underway," said Nayagarh SDPO Deepti Pradhan.
