Truck goes up in flames near Berhampur, no casualties reported

A truck went up in flames in the middle of the road near Konishi on the outskirts of Berhampur in Ganjam district on Saturday.

As per reports, the unfortunate incident caused panic among the passersby. Witnesses said the vehicle caught fire suddenly, and within moments, the front portion of the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. 

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, and no casualties were reported. Upon receiving information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and successfully brought the blaze under control.

However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is suspected that the vehicle might have caught fire due to a short circuit in the engine or the air-conditioning system.

As per sources, the vehicle was coming from Andhra Pradesh towards Berhampur, and it was not carrying any goods. Fortunately, the driver noticed the sudden fire and jumped out of the vehicle to save his life.

As the incident occurred in a crowded area, it caused widespread panic among the people, many of whom were seen running for safety. They feared that the burning vehicle might explode at any moment. Fire service personnel managed to extinguish the blaze by first spraying water and then using foam.
