Truck driver stabbed during robbery attempt in Keonjhar

A truck driver was brutally attacked during a suspected robbery attempt near Roida Square under Barbil Police Station limits in Keonjhar district on Monday, sending shockwaves across the locality.

According to preliminary reports, the incident took place on National Highway-520 when a truck transporting goods was intercepted by two unidentified miscreants. The vehicle was reportedly en route from Guali to Bileipada for unloading when the attackers blocked its path.

The assailants allegedly attempted to loot the driver. When the driver, identified as Satyanarayan from Jharkhand, resisted their robbery attempt, the miscreants attacked him with a knife. The assault left him critically injured inside his vehicle.

Locals and passersby immediately came to his aid and rushed him to Barbil Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Following the incident, the two attackers managed to flee the spot, taking advantage of the isolated stretch of the highway.

Upon receiving information, Barbil police reached the location and initiated an investigation. Police officials have begun collecting evidence, examining CCTV footage from nearby areas, and speaking to potential witnesses. Efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
