Traffic restrictions imposed in Cuttack for Kali Puja immersion procession

Commissionerate Police-Cuttack has announced extensive traffic restrictions for Kali Puja immersion procession on October 24–25. Vehicular movement will be barred on key city routes to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the event.

The Commissionerate Police-Cuttack issued a public notice on Thursday detailing significant traffic restrictions in Cuttack City in view of the upcoming Goddess Kali immersion procession scheduled on October 24-25 this year.

To ensure public safety and convenience during the immersion ceremony, the Cuttack UPD has imposed a temporary ban on vehicle movement on several key routes in and around the city from 7.00 AM on October 24 until the procession concludes on October 25.

During the above-mentioned period, no vehicles shall be allowed to ply on the following routes, and traffic will be diverted through adjacent roads as mentioned below:

1. From Howrah Motors Chhak towards Mangalabag Chhak. The vehicles can use the Mahanadi Ring Road via Matamatha Chhak.

2. From CDA Market Complex, Post Office Chhak and Bombay Hotel Chhak of College Square towards Ranihat Clock Tower. The vehicles can use the Mahanadi Ring Road.

3. From Malgodown State Bank side to College Chhak through Pilgrim Road. The vehicles can proceed towards OMP/CDA Market Chhak / College Square through Malgodown and Malgodown Flyover Bridge.

4. From Mochi Sahi Chhak to Clock Tower Chhak via Ranihat High School. The vehicles can take a left turn at Mochi Sahi Chhak to proceed to Clock Tower Chhak or Jobra Chhak via Dr. Tejeswar Rao Chhak.

5. From Bajrakabati Bridge to Ranihat Chhak, when Medhas (the idols) will approach Ranihat Chhak. The vehicles can proceed towards Buxibazar or Mangalabag side through Kesharpur Bridge.

6. From Kathagola Chhak towards Mangalabag Chhak.

7. From Matamatha Chhak and Vigilance Gada towards Howrah Motors Chhak.

8. From Grinner Hotel Chhak towards Mani Sahoo Chhak and Mastan Dargah Chhak (Tanishq Showroom).

9. From Bepari Sahi Durga Ghara Chhak, Pension Lane and Samaj Office Chhak towards Buxibazar Chhak.

10. From Meria Bazar Bridge towards Pravat Cinema.

11. From Laxmi Brass Band or Kar Palace towards Tinikonia Bagicha Chhak.

12. From Hati Pokhari Chhak to Jail Road Chhak.

13. From Ravenshaw Girls’ High School to Padhiari Library and Gouri Shankar Park.

14. From Dharmasala Chhak towards Gouri Shankar Park and Utkalika Chhak.

15. From High Court Chhak, Balubazar Chhak and Petra Chhak towards Choudhury Bazar Chhak.

16. From Municipality Old Gate towards Purna Sahoo Chhak.

17. From Tala Telenga Bazar Hanuman Temple towards Kathajodi Ring Road via Nrusinghanath Matha.

18. From Nandi Sahi towards Purna Sahoo Chhak via Apananka Hotel Chhak.

19. From Khannagar Chhak and Blue Lagoon Chhak towards Purighat Gada on Kathajodi Ring Road.

20. Heavy vehicles and passenger buses are not allowed from the Judicial Academy Chhak towards Purighat. The vehicles can take the route through Trisulia or Satichaura.

Commissionerate Police-Cuttack requested the public to plan their routes accordingly.

Notably, the above regulations shall not apply to emergency service vehicles like Police, Fire Brigade, Excise and Ambulance.
