The Cuttack Police on Thursday announced the enforcement of a silence zone near Dargah Bazar Police Station, close to the City Hospital, ahead of Kali Puja immersion. This move aims to maintain peace and order during the event.
Police Commissioner S. Devadatta Singh informed that a total of 50 platoons of police personnel will be deployed across the city. Special arrangements will be made in sensitive areas to ensure the smooth conduct of celebrations.
“Police is in touch with all the stakeholders, puja committee members and local residents. They have been requested to ensure that the puja goes well without any inconvenience to anyone. Hospitals have been declared silent zones and that will be followed strictly,” assured Police Commissioner S. Devadatta Singh.

The city will be closely monitored through rooftop police surveillance, drones, and CCTV cameras. In addition, central forces will also be deployed to assist local law enforcement.
Authorities have assured that all necessary measures will be taken to maintain law and order during the festival period. Worth mentioning, Cuttack saw unprecedented violence during the Durga Puja, leading to an internet ban and curfew in major parts of the silver city.
The Commissionerate Police is leaving no stone unturned to avoid any untoward incident during the Kali Puja festivities.
