Tension erupted in the Rausapatna area of Cuttack late on Friday night after pieces of suspected cow meat were found dumped in front of a shop and on the roadside, sparking protests from local residents.  According to sources, the situation led to a heated atmosphere, with people gathered in large numbers and staging a road blockade on the Rausapatna and Seminary Chhak route, demanding clarification and action.

Following the incident, Cuttack DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, along with senior police officials, including ACPs and IICs of several police stations, reached the spot to assess the situation and maintain order. 

The locals demand immediate action against the troublemakers and urged police to go through the CCTV footage. Besides, the locals have demanded to demolish all meat shops be demolished in the locality.

Meanwhile, the authorities are currently engaging with residents to calm the crowd and prevent escalation. Besides, the Cuttack DCP has assured a detailed investigation into the matter and necessary action with be taken against miscreants.

Additional security has been deployed in the area as a precaution. Officials have appealed to the public to maintain peace. While the situation remains under control, tension continues in the locality as residents await official findings.
